HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-04-11 PRC Packet . e e MINUTES STILLWATER PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING April 11, 1990 fI MEMBERS PRESENT: Tom Thoreson, Jim Gannon, Douglas Har man, Rob McGarry, Roberta opheim, and Mike Polehna ALSO PRESENT: Dick Blekum Acting Chairman Tom Thoreson called the meeting to p.m. and introduced Carmen Craig from the Antique Boat Society. Mr. Craig met with the Board to discuss the holding an antique boat show in Lowell Park on July 14 explained that a show had been scheduled in Albert Le weekend, but due to health problems, the organizer of cancelled the event which freed up people who own antiq He has spoken with a number of these boat owners and agreed to show their boats in Stillwater. In response to questions from the Board, Mr. there will be nothing sold at the show. He does not charge admission, but if admission were charged, it donated to a charity. He is planning on approximately 6 attendance. Most boats would be in the water, but som on trailers in the parking lot. The Board discussed some of their concerns, which launChing of the boats and storing trailers; permits from the DNR and Corps of Engineers; a temporary No Wak temporary dockage; and exclusive use of the park and t lot for trailers. It was suggested that Mr. Craig mee City Attorney to work out the legalities. Motion by Jim Gannon to accept the proposal for an ant show in Lowell Park on July 14 and 15 with the conditio Blekum and Roberta Opheim, along with Mr. Craig, wor City Attorney and City Coordinator on specifics of t Mike polehna seconded.
