CITY HALL: 216 NORTH FOURTH STILLWATER, MINNESOTA 55082 PHONE: 612-439-6 21 e MINUTES STILLWATER PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING March 27, 1990 MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Wohlers, David Junker, Steve Jo ce, Rob MCGarry, Mike Polehna, Tom Thoreson, and Roberta Opheim MEMBERS ABSENT: Jim Gannon, Tom Lammers, Alan Liehr ALSO PRESENT: Dick Blekum Chairman Wohlers called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion by Tom Thoreson, seconded by Steve Joyce to minutes of the February meeting as submitted. All in e Chairman Wohlers introduced new Board member, Douglas H rtman. the NEW MEMBER ST. CROIX VALLEY ROWING CLUB Susan Hipp and Tom Palmer of the st. Croix valley Ro were present at the meeting to discuss a proposal to u Beach (Kolliner Park) as their access to the river and build a storage facility for their boats at that locati foot, 2-person boats are currently being stored at the Elevator building, but the Club would prefer to store closer to the water. The proposal has been presented Russell, Community Development Director, and Dan McGu the Boundary Waters Commission. OLYMPIC TORCH RUN THROUGH STILLWATER Paul Westmoreland, representing Stillwater Area Stillwater Jaycees, met with the Board to discuss Torch Run through Stillwater on July 3, and to request Torch Run end in Lowell Park. There would be a Lowell Park, with possibly a band and fireworks. Mike Polehna made a motion to approve the use of Lowel the evening of July 3, .with the condition that the Cit approves and that the event will not interfere with the July celebration. Steve Joyce seconded. All in favor. SPECIAL MEETING IN APRIL e Dick Blekum and Roberta Opheim discussed a request received to hold an antique boat show in Stillwater 0 and 15.
