STILLWATER PARKS AND RECREATION
BOARD MEETING
November 28, 1989

Chairman Wohlers called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion by Tom Thoreson, seconded by Jim Gannon to appr ve the
minutes of the meeting of October 10, 1989, as submitte . All in
favor.

Chairman Wohlers read a letter from the City Finance
regarding the fact that the Parks Department budget
balance. Chairman Wohlers and Parks Director Blekum expl

DOWNTOWN AREA MEETING REPORT
David Junker reported on the meeting of October 19 with

Dick Blekum reported that the fence posts have been pI cede He

Bob Bielenberg was absent.
Roberta stated her concern that the side doors are no
closing and are sometimes left open. Sometimes the doors
closed with a rubber cord, which could create exiting pro

The Chairman read a letter from Ann Pung-Terwedo, Assist nt City
Planner, regarding the TRAM 250 bicycle tour from July 2, 1990
to August 2, 1990. The tour is sponsored by the M.nnesota
Multiple Sclerosis Society, Celebrate Minnesota 1990, a d the
Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission. The event will b gin in
Ortonville and finish in Stillwater at Lowell Park. Dick reported
that he received a phone call from the MS Society yester ay and
has put the event on the calendar.

but members were in agreement that the event is worthwhile and
would promote the City.

There was discussion regarding changing the meeting date from the
second Tuesday of the month to the fourth Tuesday. The Bo rd was
agreeable but will not change the December meeting date.
