MINUTES STILLWATER PARK AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING October 12, 1988 MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Wohlers, steve Joyce, Tom Lamm rs, Alan Liehr, Rob McGarry, Duane Nelson, Ro erta Opheim, and Susan Supina MEMBERS ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Bob Bielenberg John Benson, James Gannon, and Tom T ores on Chairman Wayne Wohlers called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES steve Joyce made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 21, 1988 meeting. Alan Liehr seconded the motion. All in fa or. CHANGE OF MEETING DATE The Board discussed the possibility of changing the mee ing date to the second Tuesday of every month, starting with the Nov mber meeting. Motion by Duane Nelson to approve the change of meetin date to the second Tu.esday of each month. Seconded by Rob McGarry. All in favor, The next meeting of the Park and Recreation Board will b on Tuesday, November 8, at 8:00 p.m. (meeting time changed due to el ction night). The Board will continue to meet at the Parks Building. BUDGET Chairman Wohlers reported in Mr. Blekum's absence. Th City Council has approved the requested budget without any changes, ARENA REPORT Bob Bielenberg reported that the arena is set to open th's Saturday at 12:15 for open skating. Ice is presently being made; the arena has been cleaned, and the office and bleachers have been pai ted. OWEN AND LAUREL PROPERTY Chairman Wohlers reported that the City has accepted the Board's proposal to turn the property into park land, and is inv stigating the costs involved. The City has not yet designated the pr perty as park land, but this is considered a formality, 1 . . . Spring and Summer 1989 hockey will be opene at Last year the bid was for $75 an hour plus t x. the next Alan Liehr made a motion that the minimum bids for Sp ing and Summer 1989 hockey remain as they were last year. Seconded y Duane Nelson. All in favor. ADJOURNMENT Duane Nelson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m. Joyce seconded.
