CITY HALL: 216 NORTH FOURTH STILLWATER, MINNESOTA 55082 PHONE: 612-439- 121 . . . -/,:, MINUTES STILLWATER PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING November 18, 1987 MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne wohlers, James Gannon, Linda Kluy, Tom Lammers, John Benson, and Dr. Duane elson MEMBERS ABSENT: Tom Thoreson, Roberta Opheim, Alan Liehr, John Rahm, and James Swanson ALSO PRESENT: Dick Blekum and Bob Bielenberg Chairman Wayne Wohlers called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Linda Kluy made a motion to approve the minutes of th October 21, 1987 meeting. Jim Gannon seconded the motion. All in favor. 1988 SPRING AND SUMMER ICE TIME Bob Bielenberg provided figures for expenses and income for 1987 Summer Hockey in order to assist the Board in setting e minimum fees for the 1988 season. Duane Nelson made a motion to set the minimum Hockey at $11,500 plus applicable sales seconded the motion. All in favor. 88 Summer n Benson Discussion of 1988 Spring Hockey fees is tabled until a later date. Bob Bielenberg reported that the Summer Hockey starting date will be a week later than last year. 1988 BUDGET Dick Blekum reported that the City Council reduced Department Capital Outlay request for 1988; the replace the 1980 John Deere tractor was not approved. ARENA REPORT Wayne Wohlers reported that all items requested at the meeting have been completed except for two section ceiling. Parks and Recreation Board Meeting Minutes November 18, 1987 John Benson asked about the problem with storage at t e Arena. The Board discussed the problem and the storage building which will be added in the future. Bob Bielenberg explained that the location of the storage building will not be decided until he gets a commitment for high school hockey. NEW BUSINESS Duane Nelson suggested that the Board consider asking s local Foundations for money to be used to build functional center. The Board encouraged him to explore further, and there was discussion of forming a Task Fo together some plans to bring before the Board. This will continue at a future meeting.
