HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-040 r RESOLUTION NO. 92-40 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A SINGLE POLLING PLACE WHEREAS, the City of Stillwater, Washington County, Minnesota, is a Home Rule Charter City of the Third Class, and, WHEREAS, the City Council at a regular meeting thereof found that a single polling place, at least for the Presidential Primary Election, would be in the best interests of the voters of the City, and, WHEREAS, the Methodist Church located at the corner of Myrtle and Greeley Streets is centrally located within the City, is accessible to people, and handicapped citizens, has adequate parking, and is otherwise familiar to the voters since it has been a polling place for many years; and, WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute ~204B.16, Subd. 2 permits that this action be taken; and Minnesota Statute ~204B.16, Subd. 2 also provides that a single board of election judges may be appointed to serve at this polling place; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, as follows: r 1. That the Methodist Church polling place, located at the southeast intersection of the streets of Myrtle and Greeley in the City of Stillwater be and hereby is designated a single polling place for all the voters of the City to cast their ballots. 2. That the election judges heretofore appointed to serve at the next election shall serve as a single board of election judges to serve at this polling place. 3. Separate ballot boxes shall be provided and separate returns made for each of Precincts 1 through 5, being all of the precincts in the City. 4. The designation of this single polling place pursuant to this Resolution shall remain in affect until a different polling place is designated according to law.
