RESOLUTION NO. 9t'-'311
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF LAND
TO THE MINNESOTA STATE ARMORY BUILDING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City has been involved in extensive planning
efforts with community leaders and representatives of the
Minnesota National Guard and, need and desire has been
demonstrated to construct a new armory site within the City of
Stillwater since the armory site in the Downtown is in need of
extensive rehabilitation and repair and it is more feasible to
construct a new armory; and, the Minnesota National Gaurd has
demonstrated a willingness to cooperate and plan with the City in
order that this new armory site be located in Stillwater, and,
WHEREAS, for that purpose, the City ha~. acquired
approximately 8 acres located in the Stillwater Industrial Park
and this site was acquired specifically for the location of the
new armory after consultation with Minnesota State and National
Guard officials, and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary, as the next step in the building
process, to convey the parcel of land to the Minnesota State
Armory Building Commission in order that the process be
furthered;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized
to transfer approximately 8 acres of land located in the
Stillwater Industrial Park and described in the Deed attached
hereto and made a part of Exhibit "A" to the Minnesota State
Armory Building Commission, subject to and in conformity with all
State law and regulations giving with the construction of
armories and armory use.
2. That the City Attorney is directed to prepare a
conveyance in conformity with this Resolution and after execution
by the Mayor and Clerk to deliver the Deed to the Minnesota State
Armory Building Commission in conformity with law.
