ORDINANCE NO. 572
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE USE OF PUBLIC STREFTS AND HIGHWAYS IN THE
CITY OF STILLWATER, MINNESOTA, PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS RELATIVE TO THE
PARKING OF VEHICLES UPON SUCH PUBLIC STREETS AND HIGHWAYS PROVIDING FOR
PURCHASE, ACQUIRING, INSTALLATION, OPERATION, MAINTENANCE, SUPERVISION,
REGULATION AND CONTROL OF A PARKING USE FEL COLLECTION OFFICE AT THE OFFICE
OF THE CITY CLERK DEFINING AND PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PARKING
CHARGE ZONES UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND HIGHWAYS, PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT
THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT HEREOF AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR
THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER DOES ORDAIN:
Section 13 of Ordinance Nos. 322, 409, 418, 446 and 509 of the City of
Stillwater as amended, shall be and hereby are amended to read as follows:
"Section 13. When any person, firm, or individual shall occupy a
street adjacent to any parking meter or meters in excess of the
time permitted in Eny particular zone by posted signs, such person,
firm, or individualshall, upon notice placed upon their vehicle
by an employee of t:he City of Stillwater, pay to the City Clerk a
parking use fee as provided herein; such fee for each parking space
so occupied shall be $2.00 for any period parking in excess of the
times provided above. All such fees shall be paid or mailed to the
office of the Ciry Clerk within forty-eight (48) hours of the notice
pro-'ided to Cher. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
individual to fail or refuse to pay the parking use fee provided
herein. Each notice provided by the City shall constitute a separate
violation. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a petty misdemeanor, except that when preceded
by two (2) or more convictions within the preceding twelve (12)
months, a violation shall constitute a misdemeanor. The person who
shall be responsible for the payment of the fees herein provided
shall be the registered owner of the motor vehicle."
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after is
passage and publication according to law and the Charter of the City of
Stillwater.
