AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING CONSUMPTION AND POSSESSION OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR
AND NON -INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR IN LOWELL PARK AND WASHINGTON PARK AND
ESTABLISHING A CURFEW IN PARKS WITHIN THE CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. No person shall consume upon, introduce upon, or have in his
possession upon the public park, known as Lowell Park, or the public park,
known as Washington Park, any intoxicating liquor or non -intoxicating malt
liquor, as defined in Chapter 340 of the Statutes of the State of Minnesota.
Secticn 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to be present in or upon
the public parks within the City between the hours of ten o'clock P. M. and
six o'clock A. M.; when that person does loiter, or make undue noise by shout-
ing or yelling or when that person otherwise disturbs the peace and quiet of
the City.
Section 3. The City Council may upon its own motion or upon application,
waive prohibition of the above Sections for specific occasions, group or individ-
uals, upon reasonable assurances that the safety and welfare of the public and
the peaceand quiet of the City will be protected.
Section 4. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by
a fine of not to exceed $500.00 or for imprisonment for not to exceed ninety
(90) days, or both.
Section 5. This ordiance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication according to law.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Stillwater, this
26th day of September, 1978.
