AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 326 OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER, "AN
ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A RECREATION BOARD AND DEFINING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 326 of the City of Stillwater,
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A RECREATION BOARD AND DEFINING ITS DUTIES", is
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 1. The Establishment and Composition of Board. There is hereby
created a Recreation Board for the City of Stillwater. The Board shall consist
cs nine (9) members composed as follows: (Two (2) members of the City Council
appointed by the Council and seven (7) citizens of the City of Stillwater who
shall be appointed by the City Council. City Council members of said board shall
serve a two (2) year term ending December 31 of even numbered years. Three (3)
of the citizen members shall serve a term ending December 31, 1976, two (2) a
term ending December 31, 1977 and a tterm ending December 31, 1978. Their
successors shall be appointed for a three (3) year term. Both original and
succesors appointees shall serve until their successors are appointed and quali-
fied. A vacancy shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term. Members
of the Board shall serve without compensation and shall not be personally inter-
ested in say contracts of the board. They s::all at the beginning of each year
select a chairman and a secretary from their own number With duties implied by
those titles. A majority of the Board shall constitute a quorum for the trans-
action of business.
The Board shall hold regular monthly meetings and such special meetings as
may be required. A report of each meeting shall be submitted promptly to the
City Council.
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication according to law.
