ORDINANCE NO. 526
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 383, THE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY REGULATING
THE STORAGE OF COMMERCIAL VEHICLES AND OTHER MATERIAL IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. AMENDING. Section 18

9. EXTERIOR STORAGE. In residential districts all materials and
equipment shall he stored within a building or fully screened so as not to
be visible from adjoining properties and public streets, except for the
following: Laundry drying and recreational equipment, construction and land-
scaping materials and equipment currently (within a period of twelve (12)
months) being used on the premises, agricultural equipment and materials if
these are used or intended for use on the premises, off-street parking of
passenger automobiles and trucks permitted in paragraph 8. Boats, unoccupied
trailers, and recreational vehicles, less than twenty-five (25) feet in length,
are permissible if stored in the rear or side yard or driveway. Storage of
more than one commercial or industrial vehicle or article of equipment is pro-
hibited unless a special use permit issued for such use. Existing uses shall
comply with this provision within twelve (12) months following enactment of
this Ordinance.
10. SCREENING. The screening required in Section 9 above shall consist
of a fence or wall not less than five (5) feet high but shall not extend within
fifteen (15) feet of any street or driveway. The screening shall be placed
along property lines or in case of screening along a street, fifteen (15) feet
from the street right-of-way, with landscaping between the screening and the
pavement. A fence shall block direct vision. Planting of a type approved by
the City Council may also be required in addition to or in lieu of fencing.
SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and publication according to law.
