HomeMy WebLinkAbout0505 Ord (Establish Rubbish Deposit System)398 • • ORDINANCE NO. 505 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A RUBBISH DEPOSIT SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF STILLWATER, PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS F0a THE SANE AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1. The metal dump boxes located in the parking lot of the Municipal Building of the City of Stillwater are hereby designated as a rubbish disposal station for the City of Stillwater. SECTION 2. DEFINITIONS. Rubbish is defined as nonputrescible solid waste consisting of both combustible and non-combustible waste such as paper, cardboard, metal objects, yard clippings, wood, grass. furniture and similar materials. Garbage is putrescible animal and vegetable waste resulting from the handling. preparation, cooking and consumption of food. ,'qire ,,.y;'SECTION 3. The rubbish disposal station hereby established shall be utilized only by residents or the City of Stillwater and shall be utilized �4�97 ,. only for the disposal of residential rubbish as herein defined except that residue resulting from the demolition, remodelling or repair of any structures shall not be considered rubbish and shall not be deposited at such rubbish station. SECTION 4. It shall be unlawful for any person not a resident of the City of Stillwater to utilize said rubbish disposal station. �/ SECTION 5. It shall be unlawful to utilize said rubbish disposal station for the disposal of rubbish or garbage accumulated in commercial or industrial operations. SECTION 6. Any person violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a petty misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not to exceed $100.00. SECTION 7. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its adoption and publication. Passed by the City Council of the City of Stillwater this 22nd day of May, 1973.
