HomeMy WebLinkAbout0425 Ord (Operation of Motor Vehicles on Streets and Highways)^I J % I J� ./a7 y, ORDINANCE NO. 425 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES UPON THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF. The City Council of the City of Stillwater, Washington County, Minnesota, do ordain as follows: Section 1. Amendment. Sections 1 and 2 of "An Ordinance regulating the Use of Highways within the City of Stillwater, Incorporating the Provisions of the State Highway Traffic Regulation Act by Reference and Imposing a Penalty for Violation Thereof", being Ordinance No. 317 passed April 3, 1945 and published April 9, 1945, are hereby amended to read as follows: 277 "Section 1. Regulation of Operation. Except for Sections 169.04, 169.10, 169.11, 169.66. 169.78, 169.965 and 169.98, Minnesota Statutes 1957, Chapter 169, known as the highway traffic regulation act, as amended by Laws 1959 cc. 62, 66. 96, 215, 255, 276, 277, 410, 439, 521, and 679; Laws 1961, Reg. Sess. cc. 16, 29, 31, 34, 48, 65, 209 and 454; Laws 1961, Ex. Sess. c. 19; Laws 1963, cc. 357, 280, 634. 843, 627, 747, 93, 770, 532 and 3; Laws 1965, cc. 51, 133, 31, 815, 423, 45, 561, 844. 168. 752, 401 and 711; and Laws 1967, cc. 569, 283, 284, 268, 389, 281, 104, 500. 218, 309, 272, 13, 383, 464, 738, 271, 215, 262, 12, 467, 809 and 875; is hereby adopted as the traffic regulation ordinance of the City of Stillwater, Washington County, Minnesota. Every provision contained in said statute is hereby adopted and made a part of this ordinance by reference as if fully set forth herein. "Section 2. Scope a. It is unlawful and a misdemeanor for any person to do any act forbidden or fail to perform any act required in this ordinance. b. No person shall wilfully fail or refuse to comply with any lawful order or direction of any peace officer invested by law with authority to direct, control or regulate traffic." Section 2. Repeal. Provisions of other ordinances of the City of Stillwater inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication according to law and the Charter of the City of Stillwater.
