HomeMy WebLinkAbout0422 Ord (Annexation of Certain Land)• • ORDINPIICE NO. 422 AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN LAND TO BE IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER AND OF THE TERRITORY AFFECTED AND DECLARING THE SAME TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY. Section 1. The following territory, consisting of platted land not exceed- ing two hundred (200) acres in all, abutting upon the City of Stillwater, Washington County, Minnesota, being so conditioned as property to be subject to municipal government and not included in any other municipality, upon petition of the owners of sa4d land, and in the best interest of the City of Stillwater and of said territory, is hereby declared to be annexed to said City, to -wit: All that part of the Northeast Quarter (NEa) of Section Thirty-two (32), Township Thirty (30) North, Range Twenty (20) West, described as follows: Commencing at the Southwesterly corner of the Nelson tract, which is the present Southerly limit of the City of Stillwater along =ormer Borup Street; thence North 89°51' West along a Westerly extension of the Southerly limits of the Nelson tract, for 30 feet; thence South 0°13' West for 53.1 feet; thence North 89°51' West for 30 feet to the Westerly line of a 60 foot roadway; thence South 0°13' West along said Westerly line of the 60-foot roadway, for 116.2 feet; thence South 22 47' East along said westerly line of the 60 foot roadway, for 234.14 feet to the Southwesterly corner of saig 60 foot wide roadway; thence at right angles, bearing of North 67 13' East along the Southeasterly line of said 60 foot roadway, for 60 feet to the Easterly most corner of said roadway, the last above mentioned course being the South- ersy limit of said 60 foot roadway; thence on a bearing of South 67 38' East for 435.5 feet; thence North 63°58' East for 65 feet, more or less, to an intersection with the city limit line as established in 1922; thence Northwesterly and Westerly along said city limit line to the point of beginning. Section 2. The above described territory shall be incorporated in and become a part of the Second Ward (Second Precinct) of the City of Stillwater for the purposes of elections until otherwise designated by the City Council as provided by law. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication, and the annexation provided for herein shall be deemed final upon filing a copy thereof with the Minnesota Municipal Commission, the Washington County Auditor, and the Secretary of State.
