MARCH 28, 1950
The regular meeting of the Stillwater Recreation Board was held March 28,
1950 at 7:30 P.M. at the City Hall.
- Present were: Pozzini, Bourdaghs, Grove and Swanson. George (Mike) Muller
was also present.
In the absence of the Chairman, the Secretary presided.
Mr. Muller gave the Board a summary of the work donef ~ the Rtd Cross in 1949

certificates at the. close of the season. He said that 7 Senior Life Guards and
8 Or 9 Juniors had received certificates at the St. Croix River Beach.
The Red Cross is willing to extend the program for 1950 with the assistance of
our Board and wouid like to include adults as will as children in the instruction
program. Registration among the children will be conducted through the schcols
during the month of May.
The Secretary was instructed to publish a request for life guard applications
in the Gazette in conjunction with the report of this meeting.
A discussion of the skating program for next winter followed, all pnesent ex-
pressing themselves in favor of conducting rinks at Staples field, McKusick Lake
and st. Mary's School playground.
On motion the meeting was adjourned.

April 25, 1950
The regular meeting of the Stillwater Recreation Board was ~eld Mpril 25, 1950
at 7:30 P.M. at the City Hall.
All members were present. Douglas Ames also present.
Minutes of the March 28th meeting were approved as reported by the Secretary.
Doug Ames reported on the 1949 ball program, a copy of his report being attached
hereto. He also reported that the Eagles lodge will sponsor a~d equip one ball
team in the twilightleage.e, also midget baseball team and midget and pewee
softball teams.
On motion of Cayou, seconded by Swanson and carried, Doug Ames was hired to direct

the ball program for 1950 at a salary of $600 for the summer.
A discussion of the beach program followed. Councilman Bourciaghs was authorized
to contact l~rilJ~ McGarry ,and Jane Henley and offer them the positions as life
guard, one at each beach, with Tom Abercrombie serving as relief man and maintenance
helper.
