Councilmembers Farrell, Kimble, and Mayor Peterson Councilmembers Bodlovick and MacDonald City Coordinator, Kriesel Local 49 Steward, Reichow Local 49 Business Agent, Conners None None IU0E LOCAL 49 CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS MR. REICHOW and MR. CONNERS presented the LOCAL 49 (Public Works/Parks) contract proposal to the City Council. The proposal included changes to wage rates, vacation schedules, grievance procedures, seniority and hospital/medical insurance. MR. KRIESEL said that he had not been able to prepare a counter proposal at this time, but felt that this meeting was beneficial in that the Union could explain their proposal to the City Council. After some discussion on the contract proposal, MAYOR PETERSON asked Mr. Kriesel to have a counter proposal ready by November 13, 1984. NEW BRIDGE STUDY COMMISSION MAYOR PETERSON told the Council that the Minnesota Department of Transportation in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation was in the process of forming a Bridge Task Force to study the proposed Interstate Bridge over the St. Croix River. The Transportation Departments were asking that a citizen of our community be appointed to the committee. MAYOR PETERSON said that he had talked to John Jewell and he was inter- ested in serving on the committee. On motion of Councilmember Kimble, seconded by Councilmember Farrell, the Council moved to appoint John Jewell to serve on the Citizens Bridge Task Force Commission. (All in favor) POLICE CHIEF INTERVIEW PANEL Discussion was held regarding the per diem to be paid to the individual serving on the Police Chief Selection Panel. On motion of Councilmember Farrell, seconded by Councilmember Kimble, the Council moved to set the per diem for the Police Chief Selection Panel at $100.
