HomeMy WebLinkAbout1984-05-21 CC MIN Special MeetingSTILLWATER CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING May 21, 1984 5:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Peterson. Members Present: Councilmembers Bodlovick, Farrell, Kimble, MacDonald and Mayor Peterson. Also Present: City Coordinator, Kriesel Restroom Facilities - Lowell Park Mr. Kriesel informed the Council that the City had received two bids on the restroom facilities in Lowell Park. The bids for construction of two facilities, one south of the Interstate Bridge and one north of the bridge. The bids were as follows: Nordlinq Construction Geo. Olsen Construction Building No. 1 $ 54,721.00 $ 53,478.00 Building No. 2 55,359.00 49,053.00 Total (if both constructed) 105,630.00 104,412.00 Mr. Kriesel said the City would have to borrow an additional $40,000 to $50,000 in order to fund both facilities. APPLICATIONS On nation by Councilmember Bodlovick, seconded by Councilmember MacDonald, the following constractor's licenses were approved. All in favor. Keith D. Anderson General Contractor 600 E. Idaho, St. Paul Advent Custom General Contractor 350 Little Canada Rd.- St. Paul SET PUBLIC HEARINGS On motion by Councilmember Farrell, seconded by Councilmember MacDonald, the Council moved to set a public hearing for Case No. 539 (James Webster - special use) for 7:30 p.m. on June 5, 1984. All in favor. On motion by Councilmember Bodlovick, seconded by Councilmember MacDonald, the Council set the following public hearings for June 12, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. All in favor. Case No. 537 - Joseph Monheim, 1004 North Fourth, Special Use to construct a four-plex in a two-family zone. Case No. 538 Warm World - Conditional Use to use Trinity Lutheran Church site at 115 N. 4th Street, for day care. Case No. 540 James Huntsman, 416 5. 4th Street. 12' variance to extend a porch in the rear yard. Case No. 541 - Dan Meyer, 2122 Oakridge Road, 2' sideyard variance and 4'3" between buildings variance. City Engineer Position Mr. Kriesel informed the Council that the City had received ten applications for the City Engineer position. Mr. Kriesel asked the Council to set a day and time for interviews. Mayor Peterson asked that the Council wait until the June 5th meeting to set this date. Part Time Police Officer Equipment On motion by Councilmember MacDonald, seconded by Councilmember 3odlovick, the Council approved the employment of Jeffrey Carl Nagler as a part time peace officer. All in favor. 4th of July Fireworks On motion by Councilmember Bodlovick, seconded by Councilmember MacDonald, the Council approved the use of volunteer and regular firefighters to ignite fireworks during the 4th of July and during the American Wind Symphony Orchestra performance and to also provide fire suppression services during the aforementioned events.
