SPECIAL MEETING The meeting was called to order by President Peterson Present: Councilwomen Avise and Bodlovick, Councilmen Kimble and MacDonald and Mayor Peterson Absent: None Also Present: Finance Director/Coordinator, Kriesel Citizens: Jim Junker, Junker Sanitation GARBAGE SERVICE RATE INCREASE JIM JUNKER was present to discuss his proposal for a garbage rate increase as of July 1, 1983. MR. JUNKER proposed the following rate increase with no increase for Senior Citzens: Single Family Dwellings Two Family Dwellings - First Unit -Second Unit Multiple Dwellings - First Unit Dwelling with six or less units Dwelling with 7 or more units NEW RATE $8.00 $8.00 $8.00 $8.00 $6.50 $6.50 MR. JUNKER said that the increase would also include drop box service three times a year; two weekends in the spring, one weekend in the summer and two weekends in the fall. MAYOR PETERSON said that the increase was rather substantial and the City should hold a public hearing on this matter. MAYOR PETERSON also felt that the increase should be spread over the next two years. After lengthy discussion on this matter, MAYOR: PETERSON asked Mr. Kriesel to prepare some financial information on the proposed rate increase for the Council to review at another meeting. LIQUOR STORE OPENING ON MEMORIAL DAY. MR. KRIESEL informed the Council that a request had been received from the owner of THE LIQUOR STORE to conduct OFF SALE liquor sales on Memorial Day. The City Ordinance did not provide for 00 SALE of liquor on Memorial Day. On motion of Councilman Kimble, seconded by Councilwoman Avise, the Council moved to not allow OFF SALE LIQUOR SALES ON MEMORIAL DAY. (all in favor) NEW TELEPHONE MR. KRIESEL asked the City Council to authorize the installation of a new telephone for the new Building Inspector. On motion of Councilman Kimble, seconded by Councilwoman Avise, the Council authorized an additional telephone for the new Building Inspector. (all in favor) ADJOURNMENT On motion of Councilwoman Avise, seconded by Councilman Kimble, the meeting adjourned at 6:45 P. M. Attest: City Coordinator
