'A'ERAS, Joseph Junker and son has filed with the City Clerk a list of agree- ment forms containing the names and addresses of persons who have obligated themselves to pay to the City for such garbage and refuse collection during the month of December, 1953, according to the garbage refuse contract dated July 31, 1153, between said Joseph Tanker end Son and the City as follows:- 960 dwellings ._ 21 commercial amounting in all to f• ..1.50 4' 19.00 11440.00 $ 159.00 51629.00 the above figures do not include any extra compensation for the garbage -refuse collector's entering into basements for garbage or refuse, for which a higher price has been agreed upon between the collector and the person or persons whose garbage or refuse was collected and removed. Such higher price does not go through the City books and is a matter of private agreement between such panel or persons and the collertor. Attest: City C ark RESOLUTION 30. 1675 Mayor RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUE AND SALE OF CERTIFICATE OF INDEBTEDNESS TO PAY FOR GARBAGE AND ROUSE COLLECTION AND REMOVAL FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 1953. RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TIE CITY CF STILLWATER, that there shell be issued and sold a certificate of indebtedness of the CITY OF STILLWATER in the amount of One Thousand Six Hundred and Twenty Nine (1629.00) Dollars to pay Joseph Junker 'e Son for garbage and refuse collection, transportation, burial and disoositicn for the month of December 1953, in accordance with the garbage - refuse contract dated July 31, 1953, between Joseph Junker & Son and the City. Said certificate shall he numbered four, shell be dated January 9, 1954, and shall be payable to the bearer on or before April 30, 1954, with interest at the rate of four (4) per cent per annum from the date of issue until paid. It shall be executed on behalf of the City by its Mayor, attested by the City Clerk and shall Fear the official seal of the City. It shall he sold by the City Clerk on the date cf its issue or as soon thereafter as possible, at par and accrued interest. TIE FILL FAITS AID CREDIT OF TqE CITY, voluntary payments by the owners or occupants of the premises from which garbage and refuse ere removed and dis- posed of, and the proceeds of special assessments es provided by State law are all hereby pledrrd to the full payment of said certificate end interest. (FIE CITY TREAS"RER shall endorse upon each certificate when presented to him, the name and post office address of the holder thereof and shall keep a record in his office of the name and post office address of such holder. Published - January 11, 195h Attest: Mayor City Clerf, RESOLUTION NO. 1677 RESOLUTION UPON THE DEATI CF COLONEL WILLIAM E. PER LEE. WHEREAS, Ellliam E. Per Lee died on December 24, 1953, end the Council of the City of Stillwater considers his death of sufficient public interest to instruct the Clerk to make permanent upon the Council minutes the following Resolution pertaining to him: Colonel Per Lee spent his entire lifetime of 77 years as a resilent of Still- water, except for surh times as he was away from the city in the military service of his country. For over fifty years he was an employee of the post office in Stillwater and had served for many years as Assistant Post Master, a position held by him upon his retirement in 1946. He had a long record of military service, be- ginning with old Company Ka of Stillwater. He was Captain of the unit from 1912 to 1915. le served in the armed forces in World War I and rose to the rank of Major. After the war was over he continued in the reserves until he attained the rank of full colonel. During the last several years of his life after his retirement from military service he served with great zeal and interest as Chairman of the Stillwater Park Board and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Washington County nistoricat Society. In Loth of these positi-ns he served the public interest with great capacity. It will he difficult to replace him. RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER, that the written assignment made by Joseph Junker and John Junker, co-partners, doing business as Joseph Dunker & Son, dated February 25th, 1954, in favor of the Stillwater Motor Company, now on file in the office of the City Clerk, in the sum of fifty (50) Dollars per month for each and every month during the remainder of the term of that certain agreement in writing made the 31st day of July, 1953, between said Joseph Dunker & Son and the City of Stillwater, a Minnesota municipal corporation, is hereby accepted. Said sum of 050.90 per month shall be paid monthly to said Stillwater Motor Company. RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF STILLWATER that the Council approve the attached assignment by the St. Croix Barge Terminal, Inc. to the City of Stillwater of moneys to become due to said barge terminal company for the unloading, docking, storage and re -loading of coal from pile on to cars during the year 1954 for the Statb of Minnesota ^� fdr'the account of the Minnesota State Prison. Said assignment to consist of the forwarding by said state prison of all of such moneys to the City Clerk of Stillwater, by check payable to the order of said barge terminal company; from the amount of said checks when they come into the possession of the City, the barge terminal company is to pay to the City, in cash, all of the proceeds thereof except operating costs, the total of which shall not be greater than fifty (50) percent of the amount of each check, the balance of said check to be retained by the barge terminal company.
