RESOLUTION FIXING THE SALARY OF THE
MUNICIPAL JUDGE OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER;
RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLNATER,Tbat the salary of the
Municipal Judge of the City of Stilleater,be and the same is hereby fixed at
S1000.00 per annum,beg%nning January lst,1937yandttthe City Clerk is hereby
directed to draw a warrant on the City Treasurer for the sum of 683.33 or. the
first day of each month for the salary earned the preceding month.

RESOLUTION No. 990.
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING DEPOSITORIES FOR PUBLIC FUNDS.
_ RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWAT8R:
1. That the following banks located in Stillwater are hereby designated,for a
term ending December 31,1938,depositories of public funds belonging to the City:
First National Bank in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00
Cosmopolitan State Bank in an amount not to exceed $8500.00
Farmers & Merchants State Bank in an amount not to exceed $5000.00.
2. That, before any deposit* of any kind are made in any of said banks,each
of them desiring to receive such depaeits,Shall comply with all the provisions
of law pertaining to security to be given to the City for all depssitp-'gf
public funds.
3. That, should any depository elect to withdraw as a depository at any time
during Said term,euoh depository may do so by giving at least 15 days written
notice to the City,addre*sed to the City Clerk,of such election.
Upon such witbdrawal,the bond given by suoh depository,if any has been given,
shall be cancelled and the principal and sureties thereon discharged,and,the
City Treasurer shalt deliver to such depoeitory,all collateral securities given
by it to secure the deposit of the funds of the City therein,but no bond shall
be cancelled and no securities shall be teturned until such depositor has
delivered to the Oity Treasurer all moneys in its possession belonging to the
City; should the City elect to withdraw its designation of any suoh depository
during said term,it may do so by giving a similar notice of such election to
the depository.UPon the designation of any depository being so withdrawn,suoh
depository *hall deliver to the City Treasurer, all funds belonging to the
City in its possession.

RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER,Tbat the payments of
Special Assessments levied against real estate benefitrd;to defray the cost
and expense of constructing a sewer in North Sherburne Street from Myrtle
Street to Linden Street and in West Linden Street from North Sherburne Street
to North Owens Street in the City of Stillwater,and known as Local Improtement
No, 35may be made in five installments to be due October 1st of each year,
beginning with the year 1937,by the owner of or any person interested in any
lot,part of lot or parcel of land against which assesements have Eden levied,
who shall elect in writing to pay the same in five installments.
And be it further resolved that said installments shal bear interest
at the rate of six per cent per annum from the expitation of thirty days after
the publication of the notice required to be given by the City Treasurer in
accordance with section 244 of the Charter of the City of Stillwater.

I.That the plans and specifications for the proposed work of constructing
a sewer in and along the center line of South Sherburne Street,from the
center of W. Myrtle Street to a point 43 feet north of the north line pf W.
Ramsey Street; and in and along the center line of South Holcombe Street,
from W. Churchill Street to a point 36.6 feet north of the north line of W.
Hancock Street,togetber with an estimate of the probable expense thereof,as
prepared by the City Engineer and presented to the Council for its consideration
and approval,be and the same are hereby approved and ordered filed in the office
of the City Clerk.
2.That Tuesday the 6th day of Apr11,1937,at 7;30 o'clock P.M.,be and is
hcreby designated as the time when the Council will meet in the Council Chamber

1. That it is hereby determined that these Portions of the hereinafter named
streets situated in that territory of the city of Stillwater embraced within
the boundaries of the several sprinkling districts hereinafter described shall
be sprinkled with weter.or sprinkled,treated or purfaced with tar and gravel
or crushed stone as hereinafter designated during the year 1937,which

Resolution determining to proceed with the work of sprinkling with
water the portions of the streets embraced within the boundaries
of Sprinkling District Number 14, and the wrrk of sprinkling, treating
or surfacing with tar and gravel or crushed stone the portions of
the streets embraced within the boundaries of SprinklinL District
Number 16, and directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL 0 TFF CITY OF STILLWATER;
1. That it is hereby determined to proceed with the work of
sprinkling with water the portions of the streets embraced
within the boundaries of.,5prinkling District Number 14, and
the work of sprinkling, treating or surfacing with tar and
gravel or crushed stone the portions of the streets embraced
within the boundaries of Sprinkling District '-%umber 16.
2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise for
bids in accordance with the provisions of the charter, returnable
at a regular meeting of the Council to he held in the Council
Chamber in the City Hall on Tuesday, the 4th day of May, 1937,
at 7;30 o'clock P.M. for doing and furnishing the commodities,
labor and service for the work as heretofore outlined in accord-
ance with the detailed plane and specifications therefor, and the
proposed contract on fil:in the office of the City Clerk. That
in the advertisement for bids the City Clerk shall request separate
proposals for each sprinkling district.

RESOLUTION NO. 899
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF INDEBTEDNESS.
RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF STILLWATER that there
shall be issued and sold certificates of indebtedness of the City
of Stillwater in the sum of Ten Thousand (10,000) Dollars in
anticipation of the payments of taxes levied for the general fund
of the City of Stillwater in the year 1936. Said certificates shall
be numbered, dated, and in amounts as follows;
Certificate No. 1 dated April, 7, 1937 for Six Thousand (6000) Dollars;
Certificate No. 2 dated May, 1, 1937 for Two Thousand (2000) Dollars;
Certificate No. 3 dated May, 1, 1937 for Two Thousand (2000) Dollars.
Said certificates shall be a general obligation of the City:
they shall be payable to the bearer on or before July, 31, 1937 with
interest at five (5) per cent per annum from date of issue until paid,
and shall be signed in the name of the City by its Mayor, sealed with
its corporate seal, and countersigned by the City Clerk. Said
certificates shall be sold by the City Clerk on the respective dates
thereof, or as soon thereafter as possible, at par and accrued interest.

RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER that the action
of Margaret B. Nordstrom, City Treasurer, in surrendering to the Cosmopolitan
State Bank of Stillwater on March, 12, 1937 the following described bonds
heretofore pledged by said bank with the City Treasurer of the City of
Stillwater as security for the deposit with it of public hinds belonging to
the City to wit;
No. 42, State of South Dakota, Refunding Series A-1932
6 `$, due March, 15, 1937, par value 61000.00
Nos. 474 to 478 inclusive, Corson County, South Dakota

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER, that the
United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company, a corporation of Baltimore,
Maryland, be, and the said company is hereby released from any and all
obligations owed by it to the City of Stillwater, pursuant to said
company's bond No. 25552-07-375-36 issued by said company in favor of
the City of Stillwater on behalf of Charles A. Lammers, by reason of any
act done or omitted to be done by said Charles A. Lammers as an employee
of the City of Stillwater subsequent to March, 31, 1937.

Depositories for Public Funds", the Cosmopolitan State Bank of
Stillwater by an agreement in writing executed February, 27, 1937 end
now on file in the office of the City Clerk, has pledged to the City
to secure deposits made with said bank of moneys belonging to the City,
certain securities of the total market value of Forty-five Hundred
(4500) Dollars as specified in said agreement;

RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER, that effective
June, 1, 1937, the following salaries be, and they hereby are, fixed for
the respective employees below named;
Life Guard, while on duty at American Legion bathing beach, with the
understanding that he is to pay, at his own expense,,

Resolution determining to proceed with the work of improving
Orleans street, from Fourth Avenue So. to South Fourth Street.
RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP STILLWATER;
1. Whereas plans, specifications and an estimate of the probable expense
have been prepared by the City Engineer for grading, constructing curbs and
gutters, surfacing with tar and gravel and the general improving of Orleans
street, from Fourth Avenue So. to So. Fourth street, by the City of Stillwater
and the Federal Works Progress Administration as a joint project whereby the
City agrees to furnish all materials required, except cement, and to provide
the necessary equipment and to direct the work to completion, and whereby the
Federal Works Progress Administration agrees to furnish all the labor
necessary, and to pay the wages therefor, and to provide all the cement
required, and whereas said plans, specifications and estimates have been
presented to and approved by the City Council and the Federal. Works Progress
Administration it is hereby determined to proceed under this resolution
with that portion of said improvement involving only the grading, constructing •
of ourbs and gutters and the general improving of said street, and that the
portion of the work involving the surfacing with tar and gravel shall be
exeouted by the City under the provisions as set up and provided for Sprinkling
District Number 16, under dates of March, 2nd, and April, 6th, 1937.
2. Whereas the coat of materials to be provided by the City for the work
as thus outlined will be less than five hundred dollars it is hereby further
determined that the acceptance of formal bide will not be required.

have been prepared by the City Engineer for the construction of a sewer in
South Holcombe street from W. Churchill street to a point 36.6 feet north of
the north line of W. Hancock street, by the City of Stillwater and the
Federal ':Yorks Progress Administration as a joint project, whereby the City of
Stillwater agrees to provide all the materials and commodities required and
and to prosecute and direct the work to its completion, and whereby the Federal
Works Progress Administration agrees to supply all the labor necessary and to
pay the wages therefor, and whereas said plans, specifications and estimated
expense thereof have been presented to and approved by the City Council and

TO LOWELL PARK.
RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0P STILLWATER;
That the Council accept the revised proposal of the 0. H. Olsin Construction
Company dated September, 28 1937, in the sum of eleven thousand ninelabobemired
eleven and 70/100 (P1,911.770) Dollars for the furnishing
materials necessary in the improvement of Lowell Park according to the revised
Park Commission and nor on file in thsamee heretofore
theroved by City- Engiineer�d Stillwater
And the proper officers of the City are hereby authorised and
instrucin a ordanee withed to rtheto a terms�ofrits said -proposal and the said tplans and

National Hank of Stillwater, as trustee under the trust created by Elmer Lowell

RESOLUTION NO. 922
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MODIFICATION OF LEASE WITH NORTHERN
PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY.
RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER that the offer of
the Northern Pacific Railway Company to modify its existing lease with the
City of Stillwater of the railroad right of way, ground included in Lowell
Park so as to permit the construction by the City of certain Improvements
along the water front, proposed by the Stillwater Park Commission, and to
make the lease non -cancellable for the remainder of the present term,
except as to cancellation rights reserved by the railroad company on the
westerly eighteen (18) feet for trackage purposes, be, and the same hereby
is, approved and accepted, and that the proper officers of the City be,
and they hereby are, authorized and directed, in behalf of the City, to
execute a proper Instrument providing for each modification.

as of October 1, 1957, the salary of the Judge of the Conciliation
Court of the City.be, and the same hereby Is, fixed at the sum of fifty
dopers per month, payable on the lst day of each month following the
month of service.
And the City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed
to draw warrants upon the City Treasurer accordingly.

AT LILY LAKE SKATING RINK.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COPNCIL OF THE CITY OF STILLWATER, that the City
engage the services of Charles Salmore and Walter Carlson, both of Stillwater,
as custodians of the Lily Lake Skating Rink, for the 1937-38 skating season,
at a salary of fifty dollars per month, each, beginning December, 1, 1937,
payable semi- monthly, on the first and sixteenth day of each month following
the period of service.
