in the City Hall.
Present:
Linda Kluy, Jeannine Hoffbeck, Don Jahnke, Jerry
Mahoney, Dennis Sullivan, Dave Eck~erg, Glenn Thompson

Absent:

I
USE OF O'BRIEN FIELD
A discussion was held on the problems encountered last year.
The problem areas were curfew and profanity. If teams are to
use the field these problem ares must be solved.
The lights will be turned off approximarely 15 minutes after the
last game. That gives the teams enough time to pick up equipment
and get to their cars. '
The leagues will figure out how many games will be worked out.
These requests must be in to Bob Brothen by March 15th.
Don Jahnke moved, seconded by Jerry Mahoney, that we have our
next meeting on March 17th to work out this schedule. Motion
carried 6--1.
If problems occur with the use of the field the leagues will
be called and warned. Hopefully the teams and leagues will police
themselves.
The teams also mentioned some improvements they would like to see
accomplished. These will be worked out.
I
SALARY FOR BOB BROTHEN
This matter was discussed. A recommendation was made that his
salary be broug~up to the increase that some other employees
received: that is $100 per month.
Don Jahnke moved, seconded by Linda Kluy. Motion carried 6-0.
(Jerry Mahoney abstained)

The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P. M. by Chairman
Eckberg.
Present:
Dennis Sullivan, Don Jahnke, Bill Burtzlaff,
Jeannine Hoffbeck, Dave Eckberg, Bob Brothen,
Dick Blekum
Jerry Mahoney, William Powell, Glenn Thompson
and Linda Kluy
Absent:
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
RAMSEY-GROVE PARK - A discussion was held regarding tennis
courts at this site. It was decided to table this until
we see what will be done at the Croixwood Park.
I
CROIXWOOD SEVENTH - Dennis Sullivan moved, Bill Burtzlaff seconded
that a recommendation be made that emphasis be put on this park.
We would suggest that the ideas we originally came up with will be
pursued - ballfield, tennis courts, parking, playground equipment,
and, hopefully, lights for the area. Motion carried 5--0.
STAPLES TENNIS COURTS - The lighting on the courts is very inadequate.
It was recommended unanimously that this problem be corrected as
soon as possible.
I
SALARIES - It was strongly recommended that a letter be sent to
the Administrative Committee regarding their recent action. The
1972 Council set up policies on salaries and they should be adhered
to. The Administrative Committee asked that this evening's meeting
be held and they failed to show up.
LILY LAKE BEACH - There is still a problem involving small youngsters
and the older siblings put in charge of ~hese small ones. It is
recommended that a sign be painted ani ,a~'t:icle put in the Gazette
stating that the guardian of a child under 9 must be at least 15
years of age and should be watching the child. If a child is not
being attended to, both will be turned away from the beach. This
has been enforced so far and we encourage the lifeguards to further
enforce this regulation in the future.
NOTICE: The Recreation Commission of the City of Stillwater
has made the following policy which the lifeguards will
enforce at the Lily Lake Beach. All children under 9 years
of age must be accompanied and attended to by a person at
least 15 years of age. There are too many non-swimmers
being left to find for themselves.

Meeting was called to order at 7:35 P. M. by Chairman Eckberg
Present: David Eckberg, Bill Powell, Dennis Sullivan, Bill
Burtzlaff, Linda Kluy, Don Jahnke, Jeannine Hoffbeck,
and Dick Blekum
Absent:
Jerry Mahoney
Also Present:
Ed Broo~and Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Wright.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
STAPLES TENNIS COURTS
A discussion was held on the lighting problem at these courts.
It was moved by Don Jahnke that a recommendation be made to the
Council that a gate be put in and the lights repaired. Harold
Kimmel should check to see if there is anything in a previous
contract with Suburban Lighting that would come into this matter.
(We are unable to change bulbs or expand the capacity because
of the design of the lights.). This project was a Margaret
Rivers Foundation Project and it is possible that any financial
need for expansion of lighting could come from this source.
Motion was seconded and carried 7--0.
I
CROIXWOOD SEVENTH ADDITION
There are erosion problems occurring here and work should be
started as soon as possible. The Revenue Sharing Budget when
setup should take care of the financing of this project.
OLIVE STREET PROPERTY
A discussion was held on this property. Mr. Broome and Mr. & Mrs.
Wright explained their feelings and those of their neighbors.
Mr. Sullivan moved, seconded by Bill Powell that we not
develop it as a park but let the Council decide if it should be
