Chairman Milbrandt called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. Present: Chairman Milbrandt, Commissioners Carter, Johnson, Sullivan, Tomenes and Wright Absent: Commissioners Juelich, North and Pavek Staff present: City Clerk Wolf APPROVAL OF MINUTES Possi !e f December 13 2021 in minutes Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Carter, to approve the minutes of the December 13, 2021 meeting. All in favor. OPEN FORUM There were no public comments. UNFINISHED BUSINESS There was no unfinished business. NEW BUSINESS Public Hearing ti Redistricting City Clerk Wolf explained the redistricting process and the proposed boundary changes based on the 2020 census data. The City will be represented by only one House district, District 33B. In addition to considering the resolution establishing the boundary change, the Charter Commission should make a recommendation to staff regarding the proposed polling locations for each ward (reduced to four). One comment was received from Paul Kirkwold who hopes that the reduction of polling places will not cause long lines for voting. Voters will be notified via postcard, social media and the City newsletter of their polling location. Chairman Milbrandt opened the public hearing. Mary Holmberg, election judge, asked for clarification on the polling location change. Chairman Milbrandt closed the public hearing. Motion by Commissioner Sullivan, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, to adopt a Resolution of the Charter Commission of the City of Stillwater Redefining Ward Boundaries pursuant to City Charter Section 3.01, Subdivision B, and to recommend approval of the proposed four polling locations. All in favor. Charter Commission Meeting March 7, 2022 COMMUNICATIONS Ms. Wolf noted the April meeting has been cancelled. COMMISSION MEMBER REQUESTS There were no Commission member requests.
