Public Hearing ti Redistricting
City Clerk Wolf explained the redistricting process and the proposed boundary changes
based on the 2020 census data. The City will be represented by only one House district,
District 33B. In addition to considering the resolution establishing the boundary change, the
Charter Commission should make a recommendation to staff regarding the proposed polling
locations for each ward (reduced to four). One comment was received from Paul Kirkwold
who hopes that the reduction of polling places will not cause long lines for voting. Voters
will be notified via postcard, social media and the City newsletter of their polling location.
Chairman Milbrandt opened the public hearing.
Mary Holmberg, election judge, asked for clarification on the polling location change.
Chairman Milbrandt closed the public hearing.
Motion by Commissioner Sullivan, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, to adopt a Resolution
of the Charter Commission of the City of Stillwater Redefining Ward Boundaries pursuant to
City Charter Section 3.01, Subdivision B, and to recommend approval of the proposed four
polling locations. All in favor.
