HomeMy WebLinkAbout7169 (Res)2 RESOLUTION NO. 7168 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT. BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Stillwater, Minnesota, that the bid of Boyer Ford Trucks, Inc., Minneapolis, in the amount of $31,342.00, for the sale and delivery to the City of one 29,500# G.V.W. Ford Dump Truck, Model L-8000, which bid is hereby found to be the lowest responsible bid meeting specifcations be, and the same is hereby accepted; and the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract on behalf of the City with the said Boyer Ford Trucks, Inc. for the purchase of said Dump Truck, said contract to be in accordance with the specifications and the proposal of the bidder which are on file in the office of the City Clerk. Published: April 26, 1983 �CL4.Is J ayar Attest: j#.t ,e Cit Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 7169 RESOLUTION VACATING PARTS OF SOUTH GREELEY AND WEST HANCOCK STREETS. WHEREAS, at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Stillwater, a petition was presented praying for the vacation of parts of South Greeley and West Hancock Streets in the City of Stillwater, hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the City Council did drermine that the petition was properly verified and signed by an owner abutting on the portion of the streets proposed to be vacated; and the City Council determined that they are a Home Rule Charter City of the Third Class and that it is proper for them to proceed with the vacation pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 440.135; and WHEREAS, at a meeting duly called for that purpose, the City Council did on the 19th day of April, 1983, determine that the proposed vacation would not interfere or defeat the public interest or adversely affect the public and that it would be in the best interests of the City of Stillwater and the abutting owners that the said portions of South Greeley and West Hancock Streets be returned to the tax rolls. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Stillwater. Minnesota, that said petition be and the same is hereby granted and that the following parts of South Greeley Street and West Hancock Streets as presently laid out and platted, be and the smae is hereby vacated: That part of South Greeley Street described as beginning at the northwest corner of Block 22 of HOLCOMBE'S SECOND ADDITION, according to the plat on file in the Office of the County Recorder, Washington County, Minnesota; thence westerly along the westerly extension of the north line of said Block 22 a distance of 15.50 feet; thence southerly to a point on the westerly extension of the south line of said Block 22 distant 19.66 feet westerly from the southwest corner of said Block 22; thence easterly along said westerly extension 19.66 feet to said southwest corner; thence northerly along the west line of said Block 22 to the point of beginning; Also that part of South Greeley Street described as beginning at the northwest corner of Block 23 of said HOLCOMBE'S SECOND ADDITION; thence westerly along the westerly extension of the north line of said Block 23 a distance of 20.50 feet; thence southerly to a point on the south line of said HOLCOMBE'S SECOND ADDITION distant 23.35 feet westerly of the southwest corner of said Block 23 as measured along said south line; thence easterly along said south line 23.35 feet to said southwest corner; thence northerly along the west line of said Block 23 to the point of beginning; (continued on page 63) • • • • 63 • A b!1 RESOLUTION NO. 7169 - continued Also that part of Hancock Street lying westerly of the west line of Everett Street as dedicated on the plat of RITZER'S SUBDIVISION of record and on file in the Office of the County Recorder, Washington County, Minnesota. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this RNsolution duly certified by the City Clerk shall be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Washington County, Minnesota. WHEREAS, a petition was presented by several property owners; and said petition was found to be adequate and was accepted by the Council, and it has been proposed to construct the following described imorovements and to assess the benefited property for all or a portion of the cost thereof, viz: Surfacing, curb, gutter, sewer and water mains and services and other appurtenances to service the Wildwood Pines and Wildpine.s Second Additions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Stillwater, Minnesota, that the said proposed improvement be referred to the City's Engineer for study and report; advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is feasible and as to whether it should be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended.
