Annual report of City Health Officer of the condition of the Lock -Up
was read and ordered filed.
On motion of Councilman Rydeen the City Treasurer was instructed to
cancel,. all Local Improvement Assessments against lots 4, 5, and 6 Block 16 of
the Original Town,now City of Stillwater.
On motion of Councilman Carlson the City Clerk and City Treasurer were
authorised to transfer $500.00 from the General Fund to the Certificate of
Indebtedness Intereet Fund.
On motion of Councilman Loeber the City Clerk and City Treasurer were
instructed charge off the balances in Sprinkling Districts Nos. 11,12 & 13 and14
charge same to the General Fund.
On motion of'Oounoilman Loeber the City Clerk and City Treasurer were
instructed to credit Sprinkling District No. 15 the amount of the cost of
sprinkling the streets with tarvia during the season of 1927,over and above the
amount of the assessment roll, plus the amount received or to be received from
the State Highway Department and the Street Railway

T. I. Phillips,offered to plane metal weather strips on 27 windows in
the City Hall for the sum of $115.11 and on motion of Councilman Carleol action
was deferred. Report of Clerk of Municipal Court was read and ordered filed.
Trustbes of the Firemens Belief -Fund submitted their a.nual retort
and the City Attorney was instructed to present the same to the District
Court for approval.

The City Librarian, Miss. Gertrude Glennon prsented and read the annual
report of the Library which was accepted and ordered filed.
On motion of Councilman Ryden a Plumbers license was granted to
Frederick A. Haynes, at 1020 So. Sixth Street,
Oath of office of Leone P. McCormick as a member of the Library Board
presented and ordered filed.
On motion of Councilman Carlson soft drink licensee were granted to
Faul Gelber and Emily Owens.
Reports of City Clerk and City Treasurer for the month of December1927
were presented, read and ordered filed.
Annual reports of City Treasurer and City Clerk were also presented and
read and referred to the Public flaminer for examination and approval.
On motion of Councilman Carlson the Chief of the Fire Department was
authorized to purchase six blankets and six spreads for the beds at the
Fire Department.
City Building Inspector submitted and read his annual report.

Minutes of meeting held Feb. 21,read and approved.
On motion of Councilman Loeber a pool table license was granted to
little Bros. at 224 8. Main St.
On motion of Councilman Loeber the plumbers bond of Hemsch A'Cayou was
approved and the City Clerk was directed to issue a license to them.
Report of Clerk of Municipal Court of receipts for the month of February,
and reports of City Clerk and City Treasurer for the same month were read and
ordered filed.
On motion of Councilman Lavine it was decided that the Council should
investigate the conditions at the Fire Department and see what improvements and
repairs were needed.
Annual report of the Chief of the Fire Department was read and filed.
City Engineer presented plane and specifications for sprinkling streets
with water and tarvia during the season of 1928,and a resolution determining to
proceed with said work and dividing the City into sprinklin. districts was upon
roll call duly adopted.
Resolution approving plane etc, nor sprinkling the streets with water
and tarvia and directing the City Clerk to give notice of hearing was upon roll
call duly adopted.
On motion of Councilman Lavine the selling price of Lot 5 of Sabin

On motior.:of Councilman Loeber the City Attorney was authorized to ad-
just the matter between the Library Board and E. R. Reiss on necount of loss of

Committee appointed to investigate the proposition of procuring a suit-
able patrol wagon reported progress and mere granted further time.
The City Engineer was, on motion of Councilman Lober instructed to
exobange the lord csr for a Chevrolet and pay the sum of $125.00 for the exchange.
On motion of Councilman Loeber the City Clerk two instructed to craw a
warrant for $40.00 in favor of the League of Yin:.coota Municipalities as dies.
Resolution directin; the payment of bills was duly adopted.

On motion of Councilman Loeber a dance permit was granted to the
Catholic Order of Foresters.
On motion the C.ntract betty en the Northern States Power Co.,and the
City.dated Neb. 23,1928,covering electric energy for White Way was approved.
Judge Orris E. Lee appeared before the Council and asked them to
purchase,for the use of the Municipal Court,a set of so-called "Masons Code"
of the laws of the State of Minnesota, and on motion of Councilman Lavine the
City Clerk was directed to procure the same.
City Attorney reported having adjusted the matter between tae Library
Board and E. R. Weiss on account of loss of books.
0n motion of Councilman Carlson the City Clerk was instructed to
advertise for bide for a Patrol,bids to be made returnable April $rd,1928
The question of giving assistance to the Public Rest room was taken up
and discussed and a resolution :allowing the manager of the rest room $10.00
per month was presented and upon roll call duly adopted.
Resolution directing the payment of bills was duly adopted.

Minutes of meeting held Marsh 20,read and approved.
The matter of sprinkling streets with water and with tarvia was taken up add
petitions protesting against sprinkling certain streets with tarots. were read as
follows; 0n South Fourth Street, No Owens Street,North Fifth Street,and on the
so-called MoHusick Lake Road.
0n motion of Councilman Loeber it was decided not to make any assessment
for tarvia on No. Fifth Street and No. Owens Street north of Hickory St.
On motion of Councilman Loeber the bond of R. N. Bliss was approved and the
City Clerk was directed to issue a plumbers license to him.
On motion ofCouncilman Loeber a dance permit was granted to Monitor Lodge
No. 424 •
0n motion of Councilman Carlson a Soft Drink license was granted to Max
Dubin at 202 S. Main Street.
Bide for furnishing of a motor truck to be used as an ambulance and patrol
wagon were received, se follows; LottnGarage $940/00;9tillwater Motor Co.$817.45;
Lott Garage $975.00; Stillwater Market Co. $1290.00 and also a bid from Muller
Motors Co.,and after considering all bids it was decide;, to defer action until
some future meeting;
0n motionnof Councilman Loeber Elmer Berglund and Erving P. Swanson were
email Mowed $15.00 for the use of their care during the year 1927.
Mr. J A. Eearney and others addressed the Council relative to a sewer in
south Fourth Street, north of Churchill street but no action was taken.
Report of Clerk of tLe Municipal Court of receipts for the month of March
was real end ordered filed.
MN. E. 0. Conrad made inquiry as to future assessments vs Lot 5 of Sabin
Heights, and after some discasaioq,Councilman Carlson moved that the City
convey Lot 5 of Sabin Heights to E. 0.Cdnred for the sum of $500.00,the City to
furnish adequate sewer and water service to the Lot and also construct a dement
sidewalk in front of said property o8 Laurel Street,and also grade a driveway
along the westerly lin= of said lot and also to incorporate in the deed that
said property be exesp$Krom any future assessments for ear on Laurel Street,
which motion was duly seconded, voted upon and carried.
On motionof Councilman Carlson the Mayor and Chief of Pclioe were authprized
to sell the motor cycle for the best price obtainable and to purchase a touring
car for the use of the police force.
Resolution pertaining to sprinkling the streets with water and teroia and
resolution directing the payment of bills were duly adopted.

date of the Legislative Conference to be held at the St. Paul hotel on Jan. 24

On motion of Councilman Loeber the City Clerk was instructed to draw a
warrant for $1000.00 on the General Fund and place the same ir. the Workmens
Compensation Yund.
On motion of Councilman Lavine the City Treasurer was authorized to accept
proper securities from the depositories of the City funds in lieu of Surety or
personal bonds,the securities to be approved by a coramitte consisting of the
Mayor and City Attorney and Councilman Ryden.
