Municipal Judge was On fired at 6100.00 per month beginning January 1st,1925• Communication from the County Auditor enclosing bill of the State Sanatorium for the Dare of Mike Mantbey for the months of Nov. and Dec. 192A was on motion of Councilman Berglund referred to the City Physician. The Mayor announced the appointment of Chas. E. Mosier as a member of the Stillwater Park Comaisslon,and on motion of Councilman Gulags the appointment was approved. cn motion of Councilman Jarchow the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for 1000 feet of fire hose, bids to bw returnable January 20th1925 • 7.30P.M Report of Clerk of the Munioipai Court of collections for the month of Die. and the report of the City Clerk and City rsaeurer of receipts and disburse - mints for the same month were read and ordered filed. Annual report of the Secretary of the Library Board, the Trustees of the Firemen. Belief Fund and report of City Electrician were read and ordered filed. Report of City Engineer of cost of construction work and of General mainte- nance were read and ordered filed. City Engineer filed an Inventory of property under his supervision. Jkt. 1.20 do Council took r. recess and adjourned to the office of the City Engineer, to consider the bide, atier which the Council was called to order and on motion of Councilman Berglund the contract for furnishing the hose was awarded as follows; 500 feet thereof to W. 8. Mott Co.,for the Keystone Double Jacketed at $1.40 per ft. 500 feet thereof to Goodyear Rubber Co.,for the Double Jacketed Goodyear Special at $1.10 per foot,and the proper officers were directed to enter in contracts in ---..behalf of the City for the purchase of said hose. On motion of Councilman Jarchow a Dance Permit was granted to the Church of St. Marys. Communication from the League of Minnesota Municipalities enclosing a resolution favoring legislation to enable Cities and Villages to create City or Village planning co-'tssions and to enable them to pass zoning ordina ces,was read and on .notion of Councilman aealaas the City Clerk was instructed to sign and forward the resolution to the League. Annual report of City Clerk and City Treasurer presented and ordered filed, and the City Clerk was instructed to request the Public Examiner to audit the books and accounts of the various departments of the City. City Building Inn'ector ant. Chief of the Fire Departcent presented their annual reports which were read and ordered filed. On motion of Councilman Berglund 'a'5.00 was allowed Patrick Hurley on account of spreading Calcium Chloride on ro. Main Street which deprived him of part of his work daring the season of 1924. Resolution fixing; the salary of the Judge of the Municipal Court and resolution directin_; the payment of bills were both duly edopted. On :notion of Councilman Berglund meeting adjourned. Communication from the State Board of Health relative to the water supply wac read,and the Mayor reported Navin: had a talk with the Board of Water Commissioners relative to said matter. Ms. L. W. Clarke, Superintendent of the Water Works System was present and submitted a proposed plan of constr.:cting a reservoir and digging a well to supplant the water formerly obtained from Mclusicks Lake,and presented hie hews on the matter, and after some discussion it was decided to bold a meet- ing with the Board of Water Commissiom_re to formulate a plan for the work and improvement mfentaandndea water wayssand nd meansafords for financing the same and also On motion of Councilman Jarchow a Dance Permit was granted to the tnightd On motion of Councilman Loeber a Pool Table license was granted Columbus. to Carl W. The City Attorney presented the deeds of the so-called Sabin property which were accepted and ordered filed. On motion of Councilman Berglund 32.00 was appropriated to pay the subscription to The American City Magazine. Report of Clerk of the Municipal Court of receipts for the month of February and the report of the City Clerk of receipts and disbursements for the same month were read and ordered filed. The Council authorized the City Attorney to notify the Railroad and Warehouse Comr.,lasion that the case of the City of Stillwater vs the Minneapolis and St. Pau. Suburban Railroad Ca.,started in 1923,relative to the flaming time schedule between this City and St. Paul may be dismissed as the Railroad Company were now runnicil. The matter of the issuance of $50,000.00 Water Works Improvement Bonds was taken up and Councilman Berglund offered a resolution covering said matter which was upon roll call duly a opte' The City En inter presented plans,specifications etc,for grading and surfac- ing the roads from the so-called Browns* Creek"bridge, north to the City limits, and Councilman Jarchow offered a resolution covering said matter which was upon roll call duly adopted. The two bills, pending before the State Legislature,known as S.F.170 and R.F.425 and S.F.169 and H.F. 424 were considered and discussed and Councilman Berglund moved that the Council go on record as opposing the proposed legislation and directing the City Attorney to so notify our State Senator and Legislators.
