Copy o/ a resolution passed by the Central Labor Union of Stillwater, asking the Council to rescind the increase in gas given the Northern States Power Co.,was read and on motion of Counollman:Loeber thesame was tabled. Did of A. P.'.:Lehrer, :for grading, graveling and improving of The Moluclok Lake road, was opened and read, and there being but one'bid, on motion of Councilman Loeber,tbe bid was accepted and the proper officers were instructed to enter into a contract with Mr Lehrer, on :behalf of the City for the doing of said work..:. On gotten of Councilman Murphy, the City Engineer was instructed to base theroof of the City Hall painted,also confer the with the M. P. Ry.CO, relative to Painting the so-called browns Creek Bridge. On motion of (councilman Murphy the City Engineer was Snetruoted to inquire into some process for cleaning sewers. On motion of "Councilman 0aalaas the Chief of the fire Department was lnatruoted to purchase new batteries for the Fire Alarm System. Report of City Clerk of receipts and disbursements for the month of March and report of Clerk of Municipal Court ofreoeipte for the same month were read and ordered filed. On motion of `Councilman Loeber Mr. Patrick Hurley was authorised to Proceed with the sprinkling of streets and intersections on the same baste as last year,tbe City to Par him M175.00 for the season. On motion of Counoilsan Murphy, the City Engineer was instructed to prone?' plans and specification for the Construction of sidewalk, curb and gutter on both sides of So. Hatrlet Street from Pine Street to the north end of said street. On motion of Councilman ?Loebe? Second Street near the St. Croix Pearl Button factory,+and to take such actions as be deemed necessary.. On notion of Councilman Gsalaae the City Engineer and Chief of, the Firs Department were instructed to interview the Board of water Cosaissioners relative tomoving tbs fire hydrants at She corner of Second and Olive Streets and on north Main Street near Commercial Ave. Resolution determining the territory in the City of Stillwater whiob shall be sprinkled' with Tarnia duringthe year 1921,and dividing said territory into sprinkiling distriots las duly adopted. Lehrer, with bond attached, for the construction of the so-called MaKusiok-Lake Road, was presented, and on motion of Councilman Gaalaas the same were ordered filed and bond approved. Communication from the Barris Trust and Savings Bank relative to the bond issue due July let was read and on motion of Councilman Murphy the same was referred to the City Attprney. Communication from the Mayor appointing Pattiok Connors me a special polioeman, to serve without extra pay,while employed by the City on the bridge was read, and on motion of Councilman Gaalaas the appointment was confirmed, Oaths of offioe of Graoe L. Maunsell as City Treasurer and Patrlok Connors as special policeman were presented and ordered filed. Bond of Graoe L. Maunsell as City Treasurer was on motion of Councilman Murphy approved.. The matter of the construction of the so -palled Mulberry Street outlet Sower was taken up and after some disoussiob, Councilman Murphy moved that the construction of the sewer in North Fifth Street from Laurel street south to connect with the outlet as shown on the plans of the City Engineer,be eliminated from the said ester system, which motion was duly seconded, voted upon and carried, and Councilman Loeber then offered a resolution determining that the City proceed to oonstruot the said so-called Mulberry Street outlet sower. with that part of said system eliminated as above set forth, and instruct- ing the City Clerk to advertise for bids, for the construction of said , said bids to be made returnable June 7th 1921, at 7.30 o'olock P. M. The matter of sprinkling with tarvia certain streets embraced within Sprinkling Districts 11, 12 and 13 was taken up and after due hearing thereon, by people interested, Councilman Loeber moved that that part of North Owens street from Laurel street to City limits-1 be eliminated from Sprinkling District No. 13, which motion was duly seconded, voted upon and carried. Councilman assists then offered a resolution pertaining to said matter m.y and instructing the City Clerk to advertise for bide for the doing of said work and furnishing the materials, which bids were made returnable June 7th 1921 at 7.30 o'olock P. Pan_l,offered a premium of $950.00 bonds to bear interest at 5 1/4e per :anum. Kalman, Wood 4 Co., of Minneapolis,offered a premium of $230.00 bonds to bear interest at 5 1/4% per annum. Minnesota Loan I Trust Co. of MSnnearolis,offered a premium of $25'.00 bonds to bear interest at 5% per annum. Minneapolis Trust Co., of Minneapolis offered a premium of $155.00 bonds to bear interest at 5% per annum. Bells -Dickey Co., of Minaeapolia,offered a premium of $575.00 bonds to bear interest at 5: per anrum. Wells -Dickey Co., being the beet bidder, Councilman Murphy offered a resolution accepting the bid of Wells -Dickey Co.for said bonds, which resolution was upon roll call unanimonaly adopted.
