City Engineers report, eetltdtes and last of lands affected by reason of the proposed construction of sewer in South Broadway, 'outh Second and East line streets, was read and on motion of Alderman King, same was approved, ordered filed and published and the City Engineer was instructed to advertise for bids for the construction of said sewer. On motion of Alderman King the Chief of the fire Department was ^author•— lzed to employ a suitable person to take the place of firemen while on vacation. Alderman Murphy of the Levee Committee reported having constructed a Cleating DOCK and also installed stairs at the foot of Myrtle street and asked for further time to complet" the work, which was granted. On motion of Alderman King the City Engir err was instructed to cause e merit walks t0 be constructed On the east side of Union Alley, abutting the 'Thelan and Murphy properties. Alderman Starkel asked for leave Of absence for One month, and asked the President of the Council to name some one to act in his place on the ;inane and Tax Committees curing his absence. Leave of absence was :;ranted and the chair appointed Alderman Murphy to act on said committees during his absence.
