HomeMy WebLinkAbout6701 (Res.)115� . RESOLUTION NO. 6701 RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENT LOCAL IMPROVEMENT NO. 160. WHEREAS, pursuant to proper_ notice duly given as required by law, the Council has met and heard and passed upon all objections to the proposed assessment for installation of watermain, water and sewer services in Nightingale Boulevard within the plat of Long Lake Estates. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Stillwater, Minnesota: 1. That such proposed assessment is hereby accepted and shall constitute the special assessment against the lands named therein, and each tract of land therein included is hereby found to be benefited by the proposed improvement in the amount of the assessment levied against it. 2. Such assessment shall be payable in equal annual installments extending over a period of ten (10) years, the first of the inst ''ments to be payable on the first Monday in January, 1980 and shall bear interes at the rate of six and one-half percent (61/2%) per annum from the date of the adoption of this assess- ment resolution. To the first installment shall be added interest on the entire assessment from the date of this resolution until December 31, 1980. To each subsequent installment when due shall be added interest for one year on all unpaid installments. 3. The owner of any property so assessed may, at any time prior to certifica- tion of the assessment to the County Auditor, pay the whole or any portion of the assessment on such property, with interest accrued to the date of payment, to the City Treasurer, except that no interest shall be charged if the entire or a portion of the assessment is paid within thirty (30) days from the adoption of this resolution; he may thereafter pay to the County Treasurer the installment and interest in process of collection on the current tax list and he may pay the remaining principal balance of the assessment to the City Treasurer. 4. The Clerk shall file the assessment roll pertaining to this assessment in his office and shall certify annually to the County Auditor on or before October 10 of each year the total amount of installments and interest which are to be due in the following year on the assessment on each parcel of land included in the assessment roll.
