CITY OF STILLWATER
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PETITION FOR ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Stillwater, has been presented with
a Petition addressed to the Minnesota Municipal Board (a copy of which is
attached hereto) whereby the following property owners: David S. and Sharon
L. Johnson, husband and wife, Irene Swenson, a widow, William F. and Marie
Heifort, husband and wife, Reuben and Gladys Granquist, husband and wife,
Henry Amundson, a widower, William J. and Josephine Lecuyer, husband and wife,
Tyra H. Thorene, a single woman, and Beltram and May Van Tassel, husband and
wife, have petitioned for annexation of the described property to the City of
Stillwater:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of the City of Stillwater
does, hereby, support said Petition, subject to any approval which may be required
from the Town of Stillwater under the provisions of the Joint Resolution as to
Orderly Annexation by the City and Town of Stillwater, dated August 21, 1975.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution supporting said Petition is made
in accordance with the provisions of Section 414.031 of the Minnesota Statutes.

RESOLUTION NO, 6617
RESOLUTION ORDERING HEARING ON IMPROVEMENTS, ORDERING PREPARATION OF PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS.
WHEREAS, this Council did, on the 6th day of March 1979 receive the preliminary
report of the City Engineer that the following described improvments are feasible,
and may be made as proposed, in connection with Local Improvement No. 151, viz:
Construction of storm sewer drainage facilities, lift station and
forcemain, sanitary sewers and stub -ins, watermains and services,
curb and gutter, easements for streets, street construction and other
appurtenances.
and the engineer is hereby ordered to prepare plans and specifications for said
improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has further reported to the Council that the estimated
cost of said improvement is $628,930.00; and
WHEREAS, the area proposed to be assessed for said improvements includes all property
abutting and non -abutting property benefited thereby; including the NEk of the SWk
of S 29, T 30N, R 20, lying southerly of County Road No. 12; part of the NEk of the
SWk of S 29, and part of the SEk of the NA lying southwest of Boutwell Road, 5 29
all in T 30, R 20; the NW): of SEk of S 29, T 30, R 20; the NEk of the SWk of 5 29,
T 30, R 20; the east quarter of the NEk of S 29, T 30, R 20, lying easterly of the
shore of McKusick Lake except therefrom any part of the platted portion of Castle
Hills Addition to Stillwater according to plat thereof; Lots 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11,
Block 4 Fairmeadows No. 2 according to plat thereof; Outlot B, Fairmeadows No. 3
according to plat thereof, all in Washington County, Minnesota.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Stillwater,
Minnesota:
1. That the Council shall meet at the Municipal Building in said City on
Tuesday, the 27th day of March, 1979 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. for the purpose of
holding a public hearing on the making of said improvements and that the City
Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to cause proper notice
of the time, place and purpose of said hearing to be published in the Stillwater
Evening Gazette, official newspaper of the City and mailed as required by law.

RESOLUTION NO. 6619
RESOLUTION ORDERING THE HEARING ON THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF A DIRE.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Stillwater, Minnesota as
follows:
It is hereby found and determined that Mr. Jack Shelton, Superintendent
of Public Works, has reported to this Council that a local improvement as here-
inafter described is feasible and may best be made as proposed and not in
conjunction with any other improvement and that the estimated cost of said
improvement to the City is $150,000.00.
Said improvement consists of the following: Erection and removal of a
dike along the St. Croix River in the City of Stillwater of sufficient height
to prevent flood waters from entering the developed areas of the City.
This Council shall meet at the Municipal Building on the 3rd day of April,
1979 at 4:30 o'clock P. M. for the purpose of holding a public hearing on the
proposed construction of said improvement.
The City Clerk is authorized and directed to cause notice of the time,
place and purpose of said meeting to be published for two successive weeks
in the Stillwater Gazette, being the official newspaper of the City, the first
of such publications to be not leas than ten days and the second not less than
three days prior to the date of said meeting, and to be mailed to the owners
of the property in the area proposed to be assessed not less than ten days prior
to the date of said meeting.
